Biography

Adrian Chew is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance at George Mason University under the tutelage of Dr. Anna Balakerskaia. He previously earned a Master of Music in Piano Pedagogy under the tutelage of Dr. Andrew Trechak and a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and Pedagogy under the guidance of Dr. Julie Bees at Wichita State University.

Throughout his musical journey, Adrian has participated in masterclasses with renowned pianists including Leon Fleisher, Joyce Yang, Stewart Goodyear, Albert Tiu, Gabriela Martinez, Ding Xuan Zhang, Dzmitry Ulasiuk, Jeffrey Siegel, Brian Ganz, and Stephanie Leon Shames.

Adrian has been teaching piano privately for over six years. He previously served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Piano Department at Wichita State University and is currently serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Keyboard Studies Department at George Mason University. His teaching experience includes working with students of various ages and skill levels, helping them develop strong technical foundations, musical expression, and confidence at the piano.

Passionate about sharing classical music with others, Adrian believes that everyone is inherently musical and possesses an artistic spirit. He also enjoys exploring and performing a wide range of musical genres beyond classical music. He strives to nurture each student’s individuality and guide them toward becoming their best artistic selves in a supportive and inspiring environment.
